This Privacy Policy explains how Carvy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Carvy mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using Carvy, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Vehicle information: Registration plates, VIN numbers, and vehicle details (make, model, year, engine, MOT history) that you provide or that we retrieve from DVLA, DVSA, or NHTSA on your behalf.
Diagnostic data: The symptoms, warning lights, noises, and other issues you describe when requesting a diagnosis, along with the AI-generated diagnostic results.
Uploaded documents: Any service records, MOT certificates, or receipts you upload to your Car Vault.
Usage data: App usage patterns, feature interactions, and crash reports to help us improve the Service.
Subscription data: Subscription status and billing information. Note: payment processing is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play we do not store card details.
Your data is stored securely in our cloud infrastructure, hosted in the EU in compliance with UK GDPR and EU GDPR requirements. We use strict access controls to ensure you can only access your own data.
Uploaded documents are stored with private access controls in our secure cloud. Your diagnostic inputs are processed by our AI and used only to generate your result. They are never used to train external models.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Before you create an account, Carvy may assign you a temporary anonymous session to allow you to explore the onboarding experience. No personal data is stored under anonymous sessions beyond what is strictly necessary for app functionality. Anonymous data is replaced when you create a full account.
Carvy is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of Carvy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
